Kara üzerinde yaşayan canlılar olarak suda nefes alamıyoruz. Öyle olsa bile, su akışkanlığıyla , küreselleşen ve dijitalleşen yaşamlarımızın tanımı haline geldi. Eski kültürlerde suda olmanın çözümü alınan nefes tutmaktı. Derin bir nefes alarak dalınır, yüzeyin on metre aşağısında alınan nefesin hacmi yarısına iner, iniş boyunca daralır ve daralmaya devam eder. Hala sudan daha hafif olmasına rağmen, ekolojik, politik, teknolojik ve ideolojik değişimlerle artık yoğunlaşan ve sıkılaşan bir atmosferde yaşıyoruz. 'havadar', su gibi akışkan olmayan, su gibi dar bir hava içeren bu yeni ortamla bir karşılaşmadır.

Earthbound, we cannot breathe in water. Even so, water for its fluidity has become the symbol of our globalized and digitalized lives. In ancient cultures, the solution to being underwater was to hold one’s breath. One would dive taking in a deep breath. The breath of air would decrease to half its volume at ten meters below the surface, it would tighten and continue to tighten along the descent. Although it is lighter than water, now we live in an atmosphere that is condensing and tightening with ecological, political, technological and ideological changes. ‘tight air’ is an encounter with this new environment containing an air that is not fluid like water, rather tight like water.
