SWIMMING TRAP
ceramic porous seed shells + tidal river
2025
muh-me-kun-ne-tuk, meaning the river that flows both ways, was the name the natives gave to the Hudson River. 'Swimming Trap' is inspired by the incessant movement of the river and how this connects living and non-living systems. Taking the form of a seed of an invasive species spread with the tides, called Trapa Natans (swimming trap), the fountain explores the rhythm of the body of water that slowly rises and falls.
