Havaların ısınmasıyla Boğaz kıyıları her sene yeni bir kamusal alana çevrilir. Su kenarında susuz, önümde bir yılan bu kıyıların kullanımıyla oluşan toplumsal cinsiyeti gözlemler. Şakalaşmalar, hoplamalar, zıplamalar ile şehrin ortasından geçen bu su, samimi bir ortama dönüşür. Oysaki bu samimiyet beraberinde görünmez duvarlar örer, bu samimiyetin parçası olamayanların yolunu keser.

Aynı sulardaki Kız Kulesi, şehrin sembolü olmuş örülü bir kule. Efsanesi ise anneannelerin sevgiyle anlattığı, bilinmez bir korkudan sevdiği kızını kuleye kapatan babanın hikayesi. Yılan ise hikayenin bilinmezi. Değişim bu kadar da korkunç mu ?

Bugün Boğaz kıyılarındaki tekil egemenliğe karşı suyun değişken yapısını hatırlayan Su kenarında susuz, önümde bir yılan toplumsal yapımız üzerinde suyun varol(may)an etkilerini ele alır.

When the weather warms up, the shores of Bosphorous transform into a new public space. thirsty by the water, a serpent in front of me examines the emergence of a gender identity which dominates the shore. Jokes, hops and jumps transform this body of water into an intimate space with invisible walls that filter out the ones to be included in this intimacy.

The Maiden Tower, a secluded tower built in this water, is the symbol of the city. Its myth, often narrated by grandmothers to the children of Istanbul, is about a father who shuts his daughter in this tower out of an unknown fear. The serpent being the unknown of the story, I have one question in mind. Was change/transformation so scary ?

Confronting the tyranny over the shore, thirsty by the water, a serpent in front of me remembers the ever-changing nature of water, to question the potency of water over our social structure.
